Well the days are getting shorter, but that means the night are getting long… and that should mean more time for jazz.
Tonight at the Rex you can catch Sara Dell follow by Rich Brown’s Rinse The Algorithm. Friday things get going early with the Hogtown Syncopators followed at 6:30 by the Arti Roth Trio. At 9:30 pm you can catch Michael Bates’ Outside Sources who are in from New York for the evening. Saturday the Rex is taken over by Nuit Blanche celabrations from 7pm.
David Restivo has been in at the Opal Jazz Lounge since Tuesday, and you’ve got three more chances to hear him before he wraps up his stay Saturday.
The Pilot has the Mike Murley Quartet in Saturday afternoon from 3:30 – 6:30 pm, and then it’s the the Andrew Scott Quartet Sunday.
Finally, Sunday at you can catch the The Tara Davidson Quartet at Chalkers Pub from 7-10 pm.

Thursday again? Wow, where did the week go?
Tonight at the Rex you can catch The Rex’s Annual Birthday Tribute to John Coltrane. Friday things get going early with the Hogtown Syncopators followed at 6:30 by the Arti Roth Trio, and finally wrapping the night up with a repeat of the Tribute to John Coltrane 9:30 pm. Saturday catch the Darren Sigesmund Trio from 7pm.
Bill King has been in at the Opal Jazz Lounge since Tuesday, and you’ve got three more chances to hear him before he wraps up his stay Saturday (Saturdays performace will include with Reg Schwager on guitar.)
Finally, Sunday at you can catch the The Richard Whitmen Trio with guest vocalist Sophia Perlman at Chalkers Pub from 7-10 pm.

Well Thursday has come around again and so it’s time to look to getting out and about…
Tonight at the Rex you can catch up with the Donny McCaslin Quartet which is in from New York for a brief visit. Friday things get going early with the Hogtown Syncopators followed at 6:30 by the Arti Roth Trio, and finally wrapping the night up with the Mark Eisenman Quintet at 9:30 pm. Mr Eisenman and his Quintet are back again Saturday, but not before the Darren Sigesmund Trio heat things up from 7pm.
Richard Whiteman has been in at the Opal Jazz Lounge since Tuesday, and you’ve got three more chances to hear him before he wraps up his stay Saturday.
The Pilot has the Kirk McDonald Quartet in Saturday afternoon from 3:30 – 6:30 pm, and then it’s the Sugar Daddies Sunday.
Finally, Sunday at you can catch the Nancy Walker Trio at Chalkers Pub from 7-10 pm.
