Live Jazz Friday

Sorry, maybe it’s the rain this week but I seem to be a day or more behind on everything.

Tonight at the Rex don’t miss Melissa Stylianou who’s in from New York tonight only, and get there early to cath the Artie Roth Trio get things going at 6:30pm. Saturday catch Min Rager in from Montreal with Don Thompson on Bass & Terry Clarke on Drums.

Saturday afternoon at the Pilot check out the Jake Wilkinson Quartet from 3:30 – 6:30pm. Sunday check out the Richard Whiteman Quartet with Richard Whiteman on Piano, Sly Juhas on Drums, Brandi Diserheft on Bass and Darryl Orr on Sax.

Reg Schwager Workshop

Sunday November 19th at Chalkers Pub

Following the success of their last workshop featuring Lorne Lofsky, Chalkers Pup again presents a Sunday afternoon workshop, this time with guitarist Reg Schwager.

Reg has performed with internationally acclaimed jazz artists such as Mel Tormé, Pepper Adams, Hank Jones, Junior Mance, Jimmy McGriff and Zoot Sims, and such celebrated Canadian jazz musicians as Diana Krall, Rob McConnell, Peter Appleyard, Oliver Jones, Dave Young and Don Thompson.

The workshop is $15 and is from 4-6 pm and then followed by a performance with with Don Thompson (bass) and Nick Fraser (drums) from 7-10.

Sorry we are a little late this week with the listings.

Tonight (Friday) at the Rex you can catch the CD release of the Rosemary Galloway Quartet. Saturday it’s the Artie Roth Trio before Rosemary is joined by Jane Fair at 9:30pm.

At the Pilot you can catch the Adam Smale Quartet from 3:30 – 6:30PM on Saturday and the Jake Wilkinson Quartet Sunday.

Tonight at Gate 403 you can catch the Linda Carone Jazz Band at 9:00pm, and Saturday the Amanda Martinez Latin Jazz Duo.
