The shows get underway today at the Beaches Jazz Festival.
Plenty of jazz to see including the Robi Botos Quartet, David Buchbinder, Hilario Durán and his Latin Jazz Big Band, Mike McKenna Band, Real Divas with the Bill King Sextet, Downtown Dixieland, Mississauga Big Band, and others.

The Peter Smith Trio is in tonight at The Rex, followed up at 9:30 by the Paolo Scatozza Trio. Thursday brings Darren Sigesmund at 9:30pm. Friday is the Holly Clark Trio and the Vern Dorge Sextet at 9:30. Saturday catch the Fender Rhodes Trios followed by Rob Campbell Quartet.
The Dominion on Queen has What Next in Thusday. The Darryl Orr Quartet is in Friday followed by the Brian Collins Trio Saturday.
The Kyle Brenders Trio is in tonight at The Red Guitar followed by The Love Mechaniques. Thursday has the Mike Kane Trio and String Theory in house. Friday brings local legend Don Francks Trio in and Saturday the Alex Dean Trio takes centre stage.
Canadian drummer Archie Alleyne has always fostered young talent. His latest project is a fundraiser for the scholarship and bursary fund named after him. It’s to take place at Revival Restaurant & Bar, 783 College Street, Toronto, Sunday, August 6th from 2.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
Entertainment for this evening will include Joe Sealy, Kollage, Rudy Webb, Christopher Rouse, Snooky Tynes & Family, 11 year-old drummer Norbert Botos (nephew of Robi Botos, pianist with Kollage), Take 3 plus 1, Radio Nomad, Subliminal, Ashley Wey, Norman Marshall Villeneuve. These entertainers have donated their services, and the entertainment is to encourage your support towards the main objective of this event which is to raise funds for the music education of our youth towards professional development.
