Well it’s Thursday again and this week it a bit of a no brainer. The Art of Jazz Celebration kicked of yesterday and hosts a full schedule or events through May 21.

Tonight offers A Tribute to Barry Harris with special guests: Hank Jones, Jimmy Slyde, Charles McPherson, Earl May and Leroy Williams. Tomorrow follows with a clinic by Hank Jones, and then A Tribute to Don Thompson with special guests: Jim Hall, John Handy, Dave Holland, Terry Clarke and Phil Dwyer. Then Saturday you get a Barry Harris Clinic for piano and guitar players as well as a whole bunch of other events. You get the idea, so go down and show your support for a great new festival.

Tonight the Quinsin Nachoff Trio settles in for a two night stop at The Red Guitar, followed on Saturday by the Laila Biali Trio featuring Bill McBirnie.

The Rex has the William Carn Quintet in tonight and tomorrow.

The Montreal Bistro has the John Sherwood Trio with Terry Clarke & Pat Collins in tonight for the first of a three night stay celebrating the release of a new CD.
